About the Savannah Book Festival

Each year in the beautiful and historic city of Savannah, Georgia, dozens of popular and critically acclaimed authors join thousands of readers, book lovers, fans and aspiring writers for an annual world-class literary event, the Savannah Book Festival.

OUR MISSION

The Savannah Book Festival mission is to promote reading, writing and civil conversation by celebrating the written word and its role in improving the human experience. The Savannah Book Festival, Inc. is an independent non-profit corporation led by a volunteer board of directors.

Event Schedule

  • Thursday evening: Humorist Dave Barry kickoff for Festival 2013 on Valentine’s Day evening at 6:00 p.m. at the Trustees Theater.
  • Friday: SBF@Schools author visits to area middle, high school &amp college students.
  • Friday afternoon: Bobbie Deen & Kimberly Schlegel Whitman entertain at 1:00 p.m. at Trustees Theater.
  • Friday evening: James Patterson delivers the Keynote Address at the Trustees Theater at 6 p.m. and a VIP/Meet the Author Party follows.
  • Saturday: 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. approximately 40 authors offer 1 hour presentations with Q&A opportunity at venues in the Telfair Museum, Jepson Center for the Arts, Trinity United Methodist Church and Telfair Square venue tents. Free and open to the public.
  • Sunday: Closing Ceremony with David Baldacci at 3 p.m. at the Trustees Theater.
