Submit your stuff for feedback to Hazel & Wren's Open Mic!

September greetings to you, writers!

Open Mic is this week! We're accepting submissions on Monday and Tuesday (Sept 10-11). At the stroke of midnight on Wednesday,September 12th, they'll go live for 24 hours of fine feedback frenzy. Here's a handy-dandy link to the submission form: http://openmic.hazelandwren.com/submit/

If you're not able to submit something this time, but still want to participate, you can simply join in on Wednesday at http://openmic.hazelandwren.com and leave feedback. And don't forget to keep tabs on our Calendar of (Un)Deadlines for more journal and contest submission opportunities!

Be sure to follow along on Facebook or Twitter if you don't already, because we'll be posting reminders and updates there.

See you this week,
Hazel & Wren

In order to prevent submissions from being considered previously published, Open Mic is now password-protected (more details here). You will only have to enter the password once to gain access to all submissions.

If you do not have the password yet, please email openmic@hazelandwren.com, and the password will be sent to you immediately. No personal information or payment is required to receive the password.

Open Mic is an online forum that takes place over 24 hours every second Wednesday of the month, from 12:00 am to 11:59 pm. Anyone may submit one (1) work-in-progress piece of creative writing Mon-Tue the week of the scheduled Open Mic. Throughout the 24 hour period, writers will receive constructive feedback from other community members.

The next Open Mic is scheduled for Wednesday, September 12, 2012. Submit your work starting Monday, September 10 using the form below. Hazel and Wren will post all the submissions by the start of the Open Mic Wednesday at 12:00 am CST.

Due to space limitations and simplicity’s sake, please follow the Open Mic guidelines below. If you submit more than the allowed length, the editors will post an excerpt of their choosing to fit the guidelines.
Limit of one submission per writer, for each Open Mic

Poetry: 60 lines max
Prose: 700 words max

We cannot stress this rule enough: Submitters must provide constructive feedback on at least one other person’s work. We’re a community here!
All work is owned by its creator, and copyright protected as such. Each work in the Open Mic series is a work in progress, and presented by the writers in order to get feedback that will help them workshop each piece to the best version possible.
